Allison Louise Winterbottom BSc (hons) Physiotherapy MCSP

Allison studied at Huddersfield University for her degree in Physiotherapy. Qualifying and working within the NHS sector for two years on general rotations and then specialising in Outpatient Musculo-skeletal Physiotherapy.

Allison continued to work part time in the NHS and part time in private practice before taking over as proprietor of The Coverley Clinic in September 2005, having worked with the previous owner for three years.

In December 2007 Allison expanded the practice into Ryley Mount Consulting rooms (Hazel Grove), practising there on Mondays and Thursdays.

Continuing her education in the ever-changing field of physiotherapy, Allison regulary attends post graduate courses on relevant topics, recent courses having included acupuncture, sacro-iliac (pelvic) dysfunctions, and biomechanics.

Outside of work Allison is a keen horse rider (since the age of five)and owns two horses. One of which she drives and competes in local shows with her sister.

Allison has a general interest in all other sports. This fuels her interest in sports injury rehabilitation.


Jill Claire Harrison BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy MCSP SRP


Jill graduated from Manchester University in 1997 with an honours degree in physiotherapy. After working for the NHS physiotherapy service, first on general rotations, then as a locum throughout the North West, she joined a charitable organisation, working as a specialist out-patient musculo-skeletal physiotherapist.

In 2004 Jill joined Greater Manchester Police as a Neuromusculoskeletal Extended Scope Physiotherapist, and in 2007 was appointed manager of the Physiotherapy service. The role includes sports injuries as well as work-related injuries, occupational health and ergonomic workplace assessment. She maintains her professional development by regular attendance of post-graduate courses, recent subjects having been 'Stability dysfunction of the spine and extremities' , 'The science of whiplash' and 'Applied ergonomics'.

Outside of work Jill is a keen sportswoman, having, until recently, played Premiership rugby, also representing Lancashire and the NorthWest in national competitions. She now enjoys going to the gym, camping and walking. During the last ten years she has been team physiotherapist to a number of club and representative rugby teams, which has enhanced her interest in sports injury rehabilitation
